How to Delete Duplicate Contact Numbers Without App on Android?

We all have our own cell phones, and each cell phone phonebook has a lot of contact names and numbers. When we try to buy a new mobile, the first thing that comes to our mind is how do I import my contact number into the new mobile?

Well, after buying a new mobile, we copy all the contact names and numbers from the old phone and import them into the new mobile. But one common thing I’ve encountered here is duplicate contacts and numbers. After importing the contact number, when we check our phonebook, we see that all contact names and numbers have been duplicated. That is the worst thing that we face while purchasing a new cell phone.

Here, you need to remove each contact number one by one. This is a good idea but if you have hundreds of names and numbers? What will you do?

So you don’t have to worry about that. I have personally checked and here I am going to show you how to remove duplicate contact names and numbers without any program or software. This procedure will save your time and effort as well and also prevent your phone to hang. Here we go:

Easy steps to remove duplicate contact numbers without the app:

  • Open your phonebook or contact numbers
  • Press three dots on the top-right corner
    "<yoastmark
  • Now press Settings
  • Tab on Organize contacts

    Tab on Organize contacts
    Tab on Organize contacts
  • Press Merge duplicate contacts

    Merge duplicate contacts
    Press Merge duplicate contacts
  • Duplicated contacts will be selected by default so press the Merge option and that’s it

    press the Merge option
    press the Merge option

Details: Once you have import your contacts then open your phone book and press the three dots on the top-right corner of the mobile screen (position may vary in smartphones). Now press the Settings and you will see some options. Find and tab the Organize contacts. Three options will appear: Merge duplicate contacts, Copy contacts and, delete multiple contacts.

You must choose to merge duplicate contacts. All duplicate contacts will be selected automatically. So press the Merge option in the center at the bottom of the screen. This process will merge all duplicate names and numbers from your phonebook.

Hopefully, this will help you delete duplicate contacts from your phone. If it doesn’t work on your cell phone for some reason, there are many applications in the Google Play Store. Just download any app and start deleting duplicate contacts.
